The Enroth (1) Miller (30) Love Child -- Drew MacIntyre (31)

Meet Drew MacIntyre, the love child of Jhonas Enroth and Ryan Miller. Wearing number 31 (Get it – 30 + 1 = 31?), he played in his first NHL game on Wednesday after Jhonas Enroth was pulled in the third period since the 2007-2008 season with the Vancouver Canucks.

He may not be a familiar name to many Sabres fans yet, as he was just signed on July 7th, but he’s played in half of the games for the Rochester Americans so far resulting in a record of 3-4-1, allowing just two goals total over the past two games. Stepping in for Jhonas Enroth on Wednesday against the New Jersey Devils, he faced two shots in his eight minutes on NHL ice. Hey, he hasn’t let a goal in when wearing a Buffalo Sabres uniform!

While Miller is out with his concussion or whiplash issues, expect to see Drew MacIntyre on the bench backing up Enroth. Though he hasn’t played much in the NHL during his career, he’s no stranger to the AHL. He’s played on the Hamilton Bulldogs, Chicago Wolves, Milwaukee Admirals, Manitoba Moose, and Grand Rapids Griffins, among other junior hockey teams, averaging 40-50 games per season. Though his stats aren’t stellar if you just glance at them, last weekend he faced 80 shots, allowing only two goals. He’s a seasoned goaltender with a winning attitude so don’t expect this to be the last time you hear about him.
